Galway Chef Launches Cookery Book with Key Ingredients Being Simplicity, Convenience and Nutrition.

Award winning chef, Danny Coleman from Togher in Co. Galway has published a new cookery book entitled, ‘Simply Natural’. Comprised of easy-to-follow recipes for simple, flavoursome dishes,

‘Simply Natural’ is ideal for the busy mum, novice, student and budget conscious cook. Including recipe ideas for soups and starters, breads, meat, fish, salads, potatoes, vegetables, pasta and desserts, Simply Natural is full of down-to-earth, delicious meals using simple, natural ingredients.

Danny’s passion for good food was nurtured during his childhood while helping his mother with the home baking and spending happy hours with his father on the family farm in the parish of Killererin.

Speaking about his new book, Danny Coleman said, “When I was growing up self-sufficiency was more prevalent – it was just a way of life. One of my strongest memories is of watching my uncle prepare the meat to make black pudding.

I was fascinated by how he would cut up the meat and then cure the bacon in a tea chest. I also loved helping my mother in the kitchen and seeing how the vegetables that I had harvested with my father could be turned into delicious, tasty meals.”

Danny honed his skills working with some of today’s most well-respected chefs including Gordon Ramsey, Heston Blumenthal and Phillip Brasil, in Ireland and the UK.

He has also worked at a number of renowned establishments such as Knockranny House Hotel and Delphi Mountain Resort & Spa in Westport; the Hilton Hotel in London, Stratford Manor House Hotel and Straivaigen Restaurant in Glasgow.

“I believe there is a market for a cookbook that specialises in very simple yet tasty `like-your-mother-used-to-make' dishes. I would describe my cooking style as one of fresh and simple flavours with a delicate combination and balance. This is reflected in ‘Simply Natural’,” continued Danny.

With ‘Simply Natural’, dishes such as Bruschetta, Smoked Haddock & Potato Chowder, Simple Roast Chicken, Fish en Papillotte, Nicoise Salad, Gratin Potatoes, Chocolate flour-less( Cake, Tira Misu and Crème Brulee are within every cook’s capabilities.
